Welcome to the thread for discussion for preparation for Mario Awards V! This year we are considering many new things, including potential expansion to 60 Awards. This would be done by expanding both the 'Shroom Awards and Userpedia Awards to ten. Here are the members for this year's awards:

Meetings will be held in #mwikiawards on Friday nights from 8-10 pm Eastern. This first meeting will probably take place on the 25th. Official dates will be confirmed in the next day or two. We will have 8-10 meetings this year, all of which will be open to the public except the last couple meetings, in which the committee will plan events like game tournaments and other festivities that will remain secrets for now. We will have all sorts of surprises to go along with the ceremony, which will take place during the weekend of August 12th. We may expand the ceremonies to a two-day, Thursday-Friday format.

Please use this thread to discuss things such as expansion and any questions you may have about the Awards.

I'm sad I can't be on the committee, but I hope to present some awards this year.

And I may be able to next year...

But still, I'm glad about the expansion of the 'Shroom and Userpedia awards. I didn't feel there were enough previously.

Yeah. It might not be in the best shape right now but at least some newer users have revived it.

For those of you unsure about Awards stuff, you should look at previous ceremonies to see how some of it works. However, there were some things that didn't go so well last year. I made the polls block repeat voting by cookies instead of IP, and we had the whole Uniju thing and the Wayo debacle.

If we do come up with more Awards, they'll need to be good ones. I can find a few Awards that should be replaced before we begin thinking of more Awards.

Are we making categories right now? That one sounds good if some pretty cool people have joined.

We should do things like Best Article, Best Comic and Best Story (others too) but I'm sure you guys already have that figured out.

That's basically the Userpedia awards.

And come on with that name. Really? I'm not asking you to change it but the only thing I see is "hurf durf" when I read it. It's just long; I would have gone with "Awards Committee Guy NSM"

Okay rant over lol.

I actually came in here because I have a question for Ralph. Is this going to be presented in a way with our characters? If so, should I make preparations or will it be on Friday?
