The game certainly has a lot going in its favour, namely the introduction of courses inspired by real life locations, new characters and items, and mission mode. But yeah, it's the economic system that did not do favours to this game.

I wonder why you mentioned that it's "surprisingly hard" to argue otherwise.

I mean, Graphics are good, Controls feel okay, and actually racing feels like it should for a mobile game.

It's hard accessing all content of the game without paying a steep price. This can't be argued for any other Mario Kart.

Yeah, I'm not really a huge fan of the "gacha" style of unlocking things.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still my portable Mario Kart of choice.
