Mario Kart Tour

Unless there's a reasonable ingame spending cap I advise against playing the app all together as it's better to avoid the pervasive psychological manipulation of the design of these games.
 
I'm still strictly a free-to-play guy. Haven't spent a single cent yet!
I'm still stuck in the low thirties for ranked cups, but I can live with that. I just want to race as my favorite characters in their fun costumes. I couldn't care less about Happi Peach or Bus Waluigi. Give me Yoshi and Daisy, and I'm set! I don't even use the pipes in tours that don't spotlight my dynamic duo. As such, I have lots of rubies just collecting dust. Well over 600 at the moment. Once a new Yoshi or Daisy costume hits the spotlight, I feel comfortable enough to Fire 10. In between such tours, I just do what I can to collect rubies from tours and wherever I end up in the ranked tours (which still gives me rubies). I also made it a personal rule to accept having 4-star tracks. Or 3 stars, in one particular case previous tour.
The only costume I don't have is Yukata Daisy, and that's just because it happened after I uninstalled the app last year, before re-installing it with my new 4-star rule. Oh yeah, and no playing between 11 pm and 9 am. That was pretty bad.
 
I pay for Gold Pass and Premium, but not rubie bundles. I don't mind. MKT gives me quick happy reward chemicals.

Regardless, I don't advise putting too much money into free to play stuff if any at all, it's pretty rare for these things to last super long

it made number 1 chart at launch, likely due to brand recognition

but the shut down not only caused by just unpopularity and not making money, it was also the content updates coming at a slow pace
mario kart tour released new content every two weeks
dr mario world used to release content (doctors, worlds) once a month, but it slowed down lately when they started adding the rest of the koopalings (after ludwig and wendy) and a bunch of promoted assistants as doctors (koopa troopa, dolphin, piranha plant, etc)

Hmm I get challenge cards everyday and I don't have Premium. Does Premium just give you more rewards for those challenges?
 
My phone really hates any variant of Tokyo Blur and Ninja Hideout as of late. SO MUCH LAG
 
Luigi really loves Peach, but its an unrequited love.
 
The tournament is pretty even actually.

Also I'm somehow still in 2nd for this week's ranked cup even though I'm like 10k below 1st.
 
Already finished the Cup. Spent a lot of coin on the yellow sports car.

Yes, you saw it right: a tour with a RMX course set and Penguin Mario.

Funnily enough, this is the 5th course set of this year in the main rotation, we had plenty of tours that either introduced city courses, or new courses like Ninja Hideaway, or new R/T courses or, well, no new courses at all!

Considering how long they've been playing with Battle Mode and its stats it looks like they didn't anticipate it being so difficult and time consuming to implement…
 
I don't blame them, it already seems like a weird concept having battle mode when acceleration is automatic and drifting is a pain to accomplish on the touch screen
 
Ninja Hideout is my bane.

Battle Mode is coming?!!! I love Battle Mode on N64 and Wii. :eek:

I thought for sure that Peach's perfect win record would be over since Mario's team seemed really powerful at first, but I guess those support bonuses really helped Team Peach keep up with Mario and overtake him at the end!

Anyways, time to update the list:

Peach and Baby Peach (plus their alts) are still undefeated!

Luigi, Daisy, Toadette, Rosalina, Baby Daisy, Baby Luigi, Baby Rosalina, and Peachette were all on Team Peach, so they all finally won a team rally. This means that Nabbit is now the only character to lose every team rally. Poor guy... 😢
