How to input an image?

How do I input an image into a reply on a thread? The format is too confusing for me and I can't seem to find an explanation.

Adding images to posts or signatures can be done by simply pasting the url of the image you want to use, and surrounding it with the image tags.

Basic coding. To embed an image properly, you have to take its direct link url (those end with an extension such as .png or .jpg), usually by right clicking the image and selecting "View Image", and use the BBCode tags img around that url.
