What has Mario not gone for yet? ... Beyblading? ... That counts I think

Thats not a joke, I would love to see Mario do that. It can be a pretty intense sport.

super mario chess in the park

the game would incorporate two aspects as seen in the title: chess and relaxing in the park on a beautiful day
you'd be able to unlock other tabletop games one might play in the park, such as checkers or yahtzee

the character roster would be much larger than a game about strolling through the park and playing tabletop games would warrant (that is to say, more than 6)
 
This would be the perfect park.
