Example: Jason Vorhees has a Cubone with a machete.

Both have facial mysteries
Both care about their mothers
Their mothers are dead
 
Yoshi and Dragonite. Because we all know Dragonite evolves into Yoshi!
 
The Beast from beauty and the beast will have a object based pokemon such as the chandelier. Because they are similar to the enchanted objects.

Quasimodo has a Geodude because it is made from rock like the gargoyles.
 
Jafar has an Arbok because cobra.
Jasmine has Raikou because tiger.
Genie doesn't have anything, but he hangs out with Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus because genies.
Similarly, Simba hangs out with Entei because lions.
 
Homer Simpson has a Snorlax because they like to sit in one place for a long time and tney both like to eat alot.
 
clefable is pretty badass now man, combine that with its adorable design, its fitting.
