Every M&M tastes the same, but the colors are still different. What is your favorite?

I like the blue ones the best.

PURP—oh wait regular M&Ms don't have purple.

GREEN!!!!!

Also second place would be brown, just for the brown M&M mascot.

Fun fact: Before there were Blue M&M's, they had tan ones.

Before the tan ones existed, they had violet ones.

Edit: also, I think you can order purple m&ms on the website

Color's not important

what really matters is their taste

even though they all taste the same

I know you're just gonna say "bull*bleep*" if I say Wikipedia, but Wikipedia.

Wikipedia's reputation about it being an "anyone can edit" thing is overblown tbh

Which is why I didn't dismiss it outright, I just asked for the citation.

I found this timeline.

And after googling "violet m&m", several pages have stated that there originally was a Violet M&M that was discontinued in 1949.

let me take a wild guess and presume the big red m&m gap in the 70's and 80's was due to lead in some way.

Red candies were eliminated in 1976 because of health concerns over the dye amaranth (FD&C Red #2), which was a suspected carcinogen, and were replaced with orange-colored candies. This was done despite the fact that M&M's did not contain the dye; the action was purely to satisfy worried consumers. Red candies were reintroduced ten years later, but they also kept the orange colored M&M's.

I actually like to know how blue honey looks on my waffles... and if it tastes the same.
