I never really liked iPhone and iPad's forum layout. But one day iPhone randomly switch to the computer layout, was this a glitch or did I lean on a lever? My iPhone will be gone for a few days so I can only use the iPad, but can I change change the layout on it?

You can switch inbetween versions anytime, anywhere.
To go to the mobile version, click the Mobile link in the footer.
To go to the normal version, click the Go to the full site button in the footer.
Why it randomly switched, I don't know.

Thanks. I think the reason it switched was because I mistaked the go to full site button for the go to main page button.
