Yarn Yoshi: The team that created Kirby’s Epic Yarn is hard at work on the first console game to feature Yoshi as the main character since 1998’s Yoshi’s Story for Nintendo 64. Takashi Tezuka, director of Yoshi’s Island and Yoshi’s Story, is supervising the development of the new game, which is set in a fanciful world of yarn and textiles.

Edit: What if Yin-Yarn sucked Yoshi into Patch Land? Then Yin-Yarn could do other games, making Epuc Yarn its own series?

Oh yeah, and Mario gets one too.

Heh, even has the same gems and everything. It really is another Yarnified Nintendo game. Yin-Yarn couldn't be behind it all again though could he?

Also if that one SSB4 rumor is true, whoever is the partner character in this game will be a playable character on the SSB4 roster.

I hope its not like epic yarn as that game was mediocre at best.

This though looks decent but not much to go on so certainly being cautious til' more has been shown.

You might be right. I didn't see a health bar/lives or anything like that on the Nintendo Direct video. But ya know, early in development it is likely to change.

My feelings to thus are mixed, Kirby's Epic Yarn (no offence) was just packed with cheese. (which is why I didn't buy it)

It looks just like Epic Yarn. Why do I need two Epic Yarn games?

And it's not the open, 3D Yoshi game similar to Spyro I was REALLY hoping for.

The Yarn concept may be recycled from KEY, but I .think it fits with the Yoshi's platformer themes of striking visual direction-if you ignore Yoshi's Tech Demo Sold at Retail and the Artoon games, that is.

I also saw that Yoshi can jump on enemies to kill them, so it won't be an exact copy.
