Fate/Extella Link

I forgot this was out, it came in the mail today. They said this one wasn't a sequel but more like a 1.5 game where they spent all their time refining the gameplay into something bearable and the story wasn't the focus. I can already tell. Larva Altera is the greatest existence.

Dragalia Lost
Me a week ago; i bet these punks with the high midgard epithet think they're so good.

Me now, with the high midgard epithet; dang im so good.

I couldn't think of anything for Day 15 but on second thought I'll say Breath of the Wild. No particular reason, it's just a good game. It's not perfect but it's an experience that's for sure.

but I actually have no answer for 16 hard pass

I beat High Midgardsormr in Dragalia Lost for the first time, I'm pretty happy at how well it went. I wasn't the dead weight I thought I would be, although I've found out that the DPS guys and I all do the baiting so there's less pressure on me to hug the boss constantly. I guess now I just pray for good pubs while I build someone up for High Brunhilda.

It's convenient timing that I beat the (previously) hardest content at the 6 month mark.

Rusty is a one man army. Design team decided to make a thief character with physical attack higher than most characters in the game.

Dragalia Lost

I forgot they were adding new Void battles. The Frost Hermit gets Maribelle'd super hard. Dark Golem is pretty much just like the Fire Golem but faster and not weak to death by Lily. The Ghost battle isn't available yet.

They also started a countdown to half year anniversary, free ticket each day. If this is the countdown I wonder what the actual day will be. Maybe they'll remember the storyline lol.

Metroid Prime I guess, this feels like a cop-out answer because it's my favourite game but I don't think there's any game that will never get old for me. There is absolutely always a tipping point where I will no longer enjoy a game or I'll need like 5+ years before I can bring myself to replay it.

Tales of Vesperia

Looking at what it takes to 100% this game is daunting, it seems slightly less frustrating than Symphonia (3 playthroughs, 2 of those just to get an item each lol) and Abyss (stuff outright locked to NG+) in those aspects but like there's a lot of *bleep* to do. Also it's a shame the best cameo costumes are locked to 200-Man Melee which is the postest of post-game content, I want to dress Karol up as Lloyd.

I've taken a look back at Xillia, I'm glad they realised the people playing Tales games are weebs so its fine to keep the japanese lyrics for the opening. Also the change to having ufotable do the opening helped. I should replay Xillia one day, I think it's probably my favourite Tales game although I think that's an unpopular opinion to hold from what I've seen.

Dragalia Lost

Cleared the event. I'm really close to being able to do High Midgard, I finally started working towards gathering the materials for it instead of chickening out because I'd be a burden. They added a practice version so I'll just do that until I'm comfortable enough to do the real thing. My Vanessa is 5k+ might now, the closest I had before was Lily but that was mostly just 5* base stats + MUB Levi. What a *bleep*ing fluke that I actually got MUB Levi.

random Xander showcase. Good choice.

I feel like this one is super broad because most of the time party members are playable characters and there's so many god dang NPC's in games.

If it's pure NPC then I'd choose Cass from Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, most of the bartenders are young women in Etrian but its funny that this absolute unit Cass is the best bartender in the series. He's the big friendly *bleep* talker you'd expect to be running a bar and I liked going back to the bar for accepting/submitting quests to see what he has to say. It was kind of sad when there weren't any quests left. I loved the quests he put up himself usually worrying about other NPC's in town or in the labyrinth, it made High Lagaard feel much more like an actual town to return to compared to some of the other games in the series.

If we're talking party members though

It's just not gonna happen.

Tales of Vesperia

They actually added a patch that fixed the control stick option to not jump the instant you move the stick in any slightly upward direction. It's like 35 hours too late but I'm going to use it now. Moving around the world map with only 4 directions; especially the areas that change camera view as you go, was just annoying. I have accidentally used my Over Limit a few times already.

The boss in the ice cap area was an absolute *bleep*, more and more bosses are gaining random combo escape armour and this one is flying so you get so little damage before it retreats underground again or just hovers out of range of 90% of your artes. OR it just uses its super fast tail swipe that cuts out half your health while you're in the middle of an animation. Also you don't have Estelle so there's no dedicated healer in your party and no AoE heals.

Dragalia Lost

Beat the Master challenge, I knew I could clear it in one attempt with Eiyasu and spamming force strikes. I knew Nefaria would die during the boss segment because the AI is so stupid with ranged characters, their biggest benefit is being able to dodge things easier and the AI will just roll the dice and if it's an even number they'll just take the hit.

1 ) Metroid Prime
2 ) Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
2.5 ) 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
3 ) Sonic Generations
4 ) Yoshi's Woolly World
5 ) Xenoblade Chronicles X

I put in 999 as 2.5 because I still don't know if visual novels really fall into this category. I know it has a few game parts but they're so short and easy compared to the 95% of the game being dialogue, the best part about those 'gameplay' sequences is that they're just more dialogue masked as a puzzle. So you can add or remove that depending on what your take on it is.

I watched a cam-rip version of the second Fate/stay night Heaven's Feel movie. I saw some things about it and figured I'd just go ahead and watch it before getting spoiled, chances are I'll rewatch it when the BD comes out and then two more times after that while waiting for the finale.

Really good movie, I think it might be hard to really understand everything that's going on without having already read Heaven's Feel since they like to show not tell and there's so much foreshadowing hidden in plain sight but from someone who has read it; it was pretty much a perfect adaptation. There's one scene that's definitely new that was phenomenal at condensing walls of text into a clever visual explanation of the biggest twist in this movie. Also I guess the decision to go with a movie trilogy instead of anime seasons was so they weren't restricted with what they could show if you catch my drift.

movie made by ufotable so it was already guaranteed to look good but god dang it looks beautiful even from a camera, I'm looking forward to watching it proper in like half a year.

Fate/Grand Order

It's been a while since I've had an event where I can't equip my good CE's to make things go by fast. There's servant specific bonuses as well but it's mostly 3* servants and the welfare, which means everyone will have them for the bonuses but they're weak so it feels like month 1 FGO again.

I hope the later nodes for farming aren't too hard, I'm probably going to need to replace one of these +20% bonus servants with someone better to clear them consistently.

Dragalia Lost

I monkey pawed my pulls by complaining about merging those Wyrmprints, I got two 5* event wyrmprints so now the point bonus total I have (+350%) is super overkill. I haven't attempted the Master challenge but I have a feeling I'll clear it just fine once my facility levels up more.

Diddy Kong Racing, I played it a lot as a kid when all I had was my brothers N64 that he didn't want anymore. I considered going with Mario Tennis instead but I think I generally played DKR a lot more. Mario Party 3 was good too.

I tend to like the villains that aren't really 'evil' but just following their own beliefs/goals or have valid reasons for their actions, but most of the time they just end up joining your side at some point in the game and become heroes so they don't really count. (e.g Kratos Aurion from Tales of Symphonia, Crow Armbrust from Trails of Cold Steel, Hilda from Stella Glow)

I think I like Malos from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as a villain a lot, his innate desire to hate everything was imprinted on him from the start and he has a crisis about whether his goal of destroying everything is even his own. I like villains like Goetia in Fate/Grand Order that just have a completely inhuman morality but their goals are ultimately driven by a desire to improve mankind's situation, but cannot comprehend the perspective of a mortal life even when it tries with Mash.

Moved some stuff and added Etrian Nexus and IV. Nexus is great, it's everything I wanted. IV on the other hand isn't quite as good, it lacks a lot of the QoL additions of later games and its difficulty lies more in minor annoyances. But even then it's still good, just not as good as the others.

pay troubles with work. I don't expect the average worker there to do their job properly so I shouldn't have expected the cash office workers to be doing their job properly either. aaaah i dont like confrontation.

Stella Glow. I would say Etrian Odyssey but it's pretty well known within it's niche which I can't say for SG. It really scratches that itch for a grid based SRPG that isn't class focused but character focused. Every character has their own set of skills and passives, witches in particular also get their own unique mechanics. Music is great but its kind of a small OST probably due to the higher than usual amount of vocal tracks. It's the only game I've ever replayed immediately upon beating it and actually completed that second play through.

Dragalia Lost

I accidentally merged the event wyrmprints I got so my +150% point bonus became a +50% bonus, though it's a good WP and I had two silver keys from Valentines so I unbinded it fully to get +100% at least. I haven't started the story yet, it's pretty late and I'll see how far I get before I get too tired. I wanted the dragon because it looks cool but I got Nidhogg instead lol. I can see why they've made this a double 5* showcase. It's good that they're giving Dark some more 5* adventurers. They added Ieyasu for new years but it was limited time so this way they can quickly give the Dark element some decent heavy hitters. There's also an offense focused healer so that's interesting.

Fate/Grand Order

The one time I really want a Craft Essence and I get two of the rate-up 5* servant and no craft essences lmao. It's a shame but I'll go without it, it was the perfect battle tank CE. I always seem to get 5* servants in doubles within a few rolls of each other, this is at least the fourth time it's happened. I'm still kind of floored by Halloween when I got double Francis Drake back to back when it was only a 0.019% chance for just one of her let alone two. I don't know what the math on that is.

This event seems like it'll be easy but I hate it when I have to clear the story first because I don't really have the time to do it at 1am.

I'll do a full soundtrack list and an individual list, I recently went through and made a youtube playlist of all my favourites so this works out well. I'll be ignoring Brawl/Ultimate for full OST since they kind of piggyback on great tracks from previous games. Top 5 is hard to narrow down but I'm pretty confident this is as good as I'll get it.

Individual OST
1.Mighty Obstacle Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim
2.Crescent Island Diddy Kong Racing
3.Rooftop Run (Classic) Sonic Generations
4.The Azure Arbitrator Eiyuu Densetsu: Ao no Kiseki
5.aBOreSSs (Prog Ares) Xenoblade Chronicles X

Full OSTNotable Tracks
Xenoblade Chronicles X Oblivia (Day) Manon (Day) RE:ARR.X (THEMEX Rearranged)
Diddy Kong Racing Pirate Lagoon Walrus Cove Boss Challenge II
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC Fight with Assailant Infiltration Back to Our Friends
Ys Origin Silent Desert Scarlet Tempest Beyond the Beginning
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Iclucian Dance Deadly Tempation Red Line -021-

Xenoblade X is the king. Diddy Kong Racing is still god tier, David Wise is a genius. Falcom Sound Team JDK's old stuff is amazing (Trails in the Sky/Crossbell Duology/Ys Origin) but Ys VIII shows they've still got the potential to make the good *bleep* again. I thought about replacing one of the Ys games with Xenoblade 2 or Stella Glow but they're both way too good to ignore.
