  • You play as what LOOKS like a normal Toad, but his movement is very janky and he accelerates past the game's allowed maximum speed, causing him to randomly hop into alternate dimensions.
  • Every single texture in the game is replaced with Toad's face.
  • All text in the game is replaced with cursed Toad text.
  • Every instrument in the game's soundfont is replaced with Toad's voice (usually screaming).

Given the format of the Super Mario and Mario Kart games, and considering that there are 70+ playable characters, I have a feeling that a Smash edition of Monopoly Gamer could make for an interesting collectible miniatures game of sorts.

Granted, I haven't played Monopoly Gamer yet (I own a copy but haven't had a chance to play against anyone), so I'm not sure how the rules would work (would anyone be able to weigh in on that?). But "unlocking" characters could work just like in the actual game: the base game comes with character tokens of the 8 starting characters, and unlockable characters are released in "waves" where each one has a different rarity. Characters unlocked early like Inkling and Zelda could be more common, while characters unlocked late like Mewtwo and Palutena could be more rare. Chase tokens could be alternate costume versions of the starter characters, like Wedding Mario and Tunic of the Wild Link.

The "collector's edition" could come with an extra token of a DLC character, likely Joker due to his popularity.

While sorting through my amiibo collection, I've had trouble deciding on a favorite Mario extended universe character out of several candidates. Other than Samus, Nintendo characters are like my children - I love them all and have so much trouble deciding which ones I love the best. Below are the ones I'm thinking of out of the Mario extended universe in particular:

:bowser: : Bowser is badass, 'nuff said. He calls himself the King of Awesome, and lives up to it, with 900 pounds of pure destructive reptilian girth, devastating fiery breath, and a lovable and hammy personality to boot. Yet, he's not straight-up evil, and can be a very effective hero when the situation calls for it.

Rosalina: One of the most subversive Mario characters, Rosalina looks a lot like her predecessors Peach and Daisy, but breaks the mold by being a serene, caring and powerful god-like cosmic entity. I love Rosalina because of what she represents for the franchise - creativity, love, family, innocence and hidden depths.

:wario: : Also a very subversive character, but in a different way. While Mario is just about everything you'd expect from the "happy-go-lucky cartoon character" archetype, Wario tries to be the opposite on purpose. He's greedy, lazy, obnoxious, smelly, and loves to revel in being a bad guy, and his has own adventures that are usually motivated by greed. He's also hilarious to play and watch in Smash. Though his grossness can be a point against him at times, as I get slightly triggered by gross things in real life.

King K. Rool: Basically Bowser on steroids. While he isn't nearly as iconic, he's far more evil and cruel while remaining humorously hammy. I never grew up with the DKC cartoon, but as a fan of both reptiles and Darth Vader, I found his DK64 portrayal to be very very cool and wish future games would build on it.

:peach: : The most iconic female in gaming, and that's all that you need to know. Peach does suffer quite a bit for almost always playing the damsel in distress and never living down her constant tendency to be kidnapped, but I found her role and character development in Odyssey to be amazing. She's also a great character in the RPG's.

The Marioverse / The Future of King K. Rool

With the rave reception our beloved Kremling King got in SSBU, it's pretty clear that fans can't get enough of K. Rool. In the Metroid franchise, they started pushing Ridley because of his popularity (he was added to Samus Returns despite being absent from Metroid II), so do you think they'd do the same thing with K. Rool? I'd love to see the Kremlings return as the main antagonists of DKCR3, but would honestly spazz if they made K. Rool a core member of the Mario spinoff cast like with Diddy and put him in Mario Kart 9 and/or the next Mario Party.

The Marioverse / Peach's wedding dress hairstyle in Mario Odyssey?
« on: January 10, 2019, 01:08:21 PM »
Hi, I might be cosplaying Wedding Peach down the line so does anyone have pictures of her hairstyle in Odyssey? From the looks of it, it's an updo of some kind but isn't the ponytail that she wears with some of her outfits. Thanks so much!
