What game did you last play?!?!?!?

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

That's a really good one! Also I plan on getting myself Animal Crossing New Leaf and Miitopia for the 3DS soon. Also cool that you're playing Super Mario 64 on a real TV rather than an emulator. I actually think doing it that way is the best way because it's more authentic.

Wait a minute though you sent a picture of a TV you were playing it on when you originally made the post about playing Super Mario 64. I would put it here but it takes forever to load. I don't know; is there a screen on your emulator that makes it look like you are playing it on a TV, or can you play the emulator THROUGH the TV. I don't know if you know what screenshot I am referring to.

Wait a minute though you sent a picture of a TV you were playing it on when you first posted about playing Mario 64. I would post it here, but it wouldn't load properly-or at all. Does the emulator have a screen that looks like a TV? Anyway yeah in your original post you sent a screenshot of what looked like a TV you were playing it on.

Also does it seem to anyone like the site's a little slow today? Maybe it's because it's the weekend and more people are on it.

HSM Mega Bezel shaders on Retroarch
RetroArch is literally an emulator frontend, I do all my retrogaming via emulation these days to not have to deal with the mess of cables (and the costs) that would be involved if I used original hardware and games.

Anyways to keep the thread actually on-topic about what games you last played, I last played Pokémon Masters EX.

I'm super addicted to Pokemon Black 2 right now. The amount of content in this game is insane, can't believe I bought this for just $40 a decade ago. And I haven't even reached the post game!

Most recent PS2 game I played was Jak and Daxter. I'm still trying to figure that game out; I downloaded a walkthrough but haven't tried to use it yet. But I also have Animal Crossing New Leaf and Tomadachi Life for Nintendp 3DS on the way. Looking forward to those. As far as Jak and Daxter, I'm only having trouble with it because I don't know what I'm supposed to do next LOL.

NEO: The World Ends With You, this still remains my favorite game ever. Battles are always a lot of fun and exciting and it also has a great storyline with great main characters. I always feel sad when I finish a playthrough because it means I may not be able to experience it again for a while, until I decide to replay it again.

Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island, one of those games I say "fuck it" to 100% completion due to the levels having way too many completion requirements for me to want to bother. Makes me relieved that 100% completion for levels in main Mario platformers takes far less effort. Still, Yoshi's Island does have some good bosses and I get a laugh out of doing the premature victory against Naval Piranha.

They allegedly did yes. My addons got taken down by them, allegedly, alongside a ton of other Nintendo content.

Tales of Symphonia

Recently recruited Raine, my favorite character, grinding so Triet ruins enemies don't like eliminate us.

Minecraft: Java Edition (Beta 1.7.3)

Having owned Minecraft for several years, and with me starting off with version Xbox 360 version TU9 (equivalent to Java Edition 1.1), I've never touched anything prior to the official release of Minecraft before (i.e. version 1.0), and for a long time I refused to do so because I felt it would be weird playing a version older than what I started with, and it felt weird playing a part of the game's history before it was an officially released game. Well technically I have played Beta before but only to check out the title screen seed and the pack.png seed after their discoveries, never for an actual playthrough.

Today I finally decided to cave in (pun intended) and try out Beta 1.7.3, and I can certainly see why so many are still fond of this version: the simplicity in comparison to modern Minecraft is very refreshing, it feels scarier and more like a survival game with how dark everything was, and the fact that you can't sprint making mobs much more dangerous, and the fact that it feels totally like a sandbox rather than following an exploration-based campaign. The world generation is also very fun, despite how limited the selection of blocks and biomes was. No hunger is kinda cool, as it means you never have to eat as long as you don't take damage. Food heals you but isn't stackable too which means you have to be tactical about how much you carry on you.

However, I also find that playing on Beta 1.7.3 has shortcomings, and for these reasons I struggle to imagine myself spending too much time in this version and still prefer TU9/1.1. Not being able to sprint, whilst it does makes mobs more threatening and gives Minecarts more values, just makes doing just about anything so much slower and I feel I'll never get used to that since sprinting did exist in TU9/1.1. Also no enchantments, and no way to get lots of diamond tools without spending lots of time mining, which means that stuff like gathering materials takes way longer than it would in later versions. Inventory/crafting is annoying as a lot of QOL features are missing, such as dragging to spread item stacks. Mining blocks such as crafting tables is slow even with an axe. There also just isn't that much to do once you establish a secure base with a farm, good gear etc., there's no final boss, no villages, no ocean monuments, etc. Sure you can build stuff to your heart's content but that's nothing you can't do in modern Minecraft. The End doesn't exist, and the Nether does but even Nether Fortresses, let alone the 1.16+ content, doesn't exist, so its only use is fast travel.

I'm glad I tried this but I don't think I'll stick with it.

Tried out the Mega Man games on NSO

They were a mega bust
