Nintendo holding first Super Smash Bros. 3DS Tournament at SDCC 2014

Looks like we're going to have some more official tournament goodness. This time however it'll be for the 3DS version only. But the basic info about how the tournament will go, I'll paste here:

Competitors will begin the preliminary round in groups of four, where they will battle it out. The winner of each group will advance to the final round, consisting of a series of one-on-one battles. The tournament is a first-come, first-served basis, and will have limited slots.

And yes, the tournament will be live on-stream on Nintendo's Twitch channel
